Job Type: Full-time Current pay scale: $15-$22 per hour

Primary function:

As a team member you are to serve as a valuable member of your crew with the primary responsibility of assisting climbers and crew leaders in the safe performance of all services.


As a team member you will report to your crew leader.


We provide proper job training, workers compensation insurance along with contributions to a health care package and also to a Roth IRA after time conditions are met. We also offer AFLAC through payroll deductions. We offer 6 paid holidays.1 Week of paid time off after 1 year and 2 weeks after 2 years.

Employment requirements:

  1. Must have a driver’s license. (No exceptions)
  2. You must provide a motor vehicle report (your MVR) to us and pass our insurance and company driving policy requirements.
  3. Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification.
  4. Must be able to work outdoors sometimes during adverse weather conditions.
  5. Participate, ask questions and communicate with other crew members. 

Job responsibilities:

  1. Deliver the highest level of customer service.
  2. Always conduct oneself in a professional manner for the good of the company.
  3. Consciously think safety at all times. 
  4. Utilize all appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  5. Participates actively in a “job and safety analysis” meeting before every job.
  6. Safeguard other employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area.
  7. Stay in constant voice communication with workers aloft using “command/response.”
  8. Learn to understand the dangers associated with electrical hazards.
  9. Use and maintain chainsaws and equipment safely.
  10. Keep all equipment safe and stored where it belongs.
  11. Loads and unloads trucks with tools and tree debris often weighing 25 lbs or more.
  12. Keeps the work area clean and orderly.
  13. Carries materials, lays out plywood, cribbing, tools and equipment at work site.
  14. Works from the ground using handsaws, poles saws.
  15. Understand how to use rigging lines to lower limbs and equipment.
  16. Learn the basic knots required.
  17. Drives trucks or operates other equipment as assigned.
  18. Keeps trucks and other assigned equipment in a neat and orderly fashion. Reports the need for repairs to truck and equipment to crew leader.
  19. Perform all required duties in support of specific job assignments. 

Pay Scale:

Pay rates are based on the following achievements & will help you climb the pay scale. 

  1. No related work experiences, but you have a driver’s license. (entry level)
  2. No tree crew experience but has experience in similar industries like landscaping or heavy equipment operation.
  3. Some experience on a tree crew and some chainsaw experience.
  4. Experienced at working on a tree crew and very familiar with the tools, equipment and methods used to accomplish this work with a team. 
  5. If you have a CDL that is a huge plus and a CDL class A is what we prefer.
  6. You have some experience as a tree climber but still need mentoring. 
  7. You are an experienced climber with a proven history.
  8. You have led or managed a tree crew.
  9. You are a certified arborist.


Item 1-4 means that you are hired for attitude and may have some tree crew experience. You are expected to be trainable to advance.
